Research Fundamentals Tutorial

Module 3: Finding sources

By now you've developed a research question and planned the types of sources you'll use in your research. You've also developed a list of keywords for your search.

Now you're finally ready to start searching.

We determined that for our research question, we would use a mix of source types. In this module we'll discuss tools for finding various sources.

Search tools

All books, articles, media, and other sources available through the library can be found using online search tools. These consist primarily of:

  • Library databases
  • The library catalog

Databases

To search for sources available electronically, library databases are a great place to start.

Let's tour the Library Databases and examine what's available.
