Library Services is excited to announce the launch of DCCC's OER Inventory and Dashboard. Available to all DCCC faculty. The inventory offers a place where faculty can share information about classes in which they are using no and low-cost materials (<$40) to replace required commercial textbooks. It serves as both a resource for colleagues and as a tool to help identify usage trends and student impact.
The dashboard provides data on OER impact at DCCC. View it to learn about savings impact term-to-term, impact to students, and total course sections participating. It presents a visual snapshot of the role OERs serve at the College.
If you are interested in adopting OER for your courses, here are some select resources for locating these learning materials:
Affordable Learning PA recently conducted a PA OER survey with Bayview Analytics. A press release and link to the full report is available here.
If you are interested in being involved or staying current with OER discussions in community colleges, visit the CCCOER website. They provide a variety of informative webinars each semester as well as other opportunities to be informed and to get involved.
Please visit the library’s guide to Open Educational Resources (OER) and Affordable Course Content for a variety of information about OER, from finding to using to licensing.
If you have questions and/or need help locating OER materials in your disciplines, please reach out to Louise Feldmann at lfeldmann@dccc.edu
