How to Become a Tutor

Peer Tutor

Peer tutoring is a paid work-study position and a great opportunity to help Delaware County Community College students succeed academically.

Qualifications

  • An earned A in the subject to be tutored
  • Overall GPA of 3.00 or higher
  • Enrolled in at least 6 credits at Delaware County Community College during the semester that the person wishes to tutor
  • Eligible for Work Study - have a completed FAFSA on file

  • Visit the Office of Student Employment
  • Be available for a one-to-one in person interview upon request

Professional Tutors

Provide instruction support to Delaware County Community College students on a one-on-one and/or small group setting.

Qualifications

  • An earned Associate's Degree in content or related area, Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Experience in tutoring or teaching
  • Able to obtain and produce all background clearances as are required by Pennsylvania Act 153
